🚆 ECHO, jury’s favorite pitch at the SNCF Datathon TGV M, 2026! đźšť
On March 31 and April 1, 2026, the third edition of the SNCF Datathon brought together professionals from operations, data, AI, as well as students and partners, around a shared goal: imagining digital solutions for the future TGV INOUI and the entire TGV fleet.
The event was driven by three ambitions: fostering innovation within SNCF, uncovering new use cases, and strengthening collaboration around the TGV M program.
And we were there! A member of L’hypercube, Alexis SAUVAGEON, took part in the adventure—and here’s our story.
ECHO, Jury Favorite at the TGV M Datathon 2026
Among the proposed challenges, our team worked on traction energy performance: how can we better leverage train and operational data to help drivers optimize their energy consumption?
This use case focused in particular on building an initial eco-score and conducting energy performance analysis.
A simple idea: making eco-driving engaging
Our solution is called ECHO: an application designed for drivers, deployable on existing iPads, that transforms driving data into clear, positive, and actionable feedback.
The challenge was not only technical. It was also about finding the right balance: encouraging eco-driving best practices without turning it into an individual monitoring tool or a punitive system.
Jury Favorite Award
Following the final pitches, ECHO received the Jury Favorite Award.
This distinction recognizes a solution that is both frugal, practical, and easy to adopt: leveraging existing tools, making the most of available data, and creating the conditions for sustainable field adoption.
