As a continuation of the interships of Marc ALECIAN (2021) , and then Mina CHAPON (2021), a Python tool has been developed to calculate the radiation view factors between planar “facets”.

View factors are essential in determining the mean radiant temperature and are a key parameter in determining thermal comfort, particularly forShort Wave Lengths and Long Wave Lengths radiation - more explanations on the dedicated page: Calculating MRT).

After a presentation at the IBPSA France 2022 conference, the code is now oopensource, and available on Gitlab and through PyPi with a simple

pip install pyviewfactor
