The modern version of this science was born in 1738 with Daniel Bernoulli and the first energy conservation equations. Coupled with the dawning differential calculus, D’Alembert laid the foundations of hydrodynamics in 1749 with the notions of internal pressure, velocity field and partial derivatives.
The Computational Fluid Dynamics arose in the second half of the 20th century, with the ever-increasing computing power and iterative approaches. Its applications are numerous, ranging from molecular dynamics to the study of atmospheric air currents.
